Good afternoon guys,
Week 3 and I've managed another blog post, scary isn't it...........
I'm back at work this week so painting time has been rather limited, however the first order sergeant for my infinity knights is approaching completion. He will likely feature in a mid week update as he is so close to being finished I might as well just wait until he is done.
This update is dedicated to the start of a pair of projects, originally I wasn't going to blog these instead presenting them when they were finished to their relevent recipients. But Nife has twisted my wrist.
After our last meet up I hit upon the idea of converting a model each for my normal Partners in crime Rictus and Nife. For nife it was decided to convert him an Eldar Autarch as given the heroic exploits of his Striking scorpion Exarch going toe to toe with a great unclean one and all manner of other beasts it seemed only fair that he/she would be promoted.
Now Nifes model will be based off the Dark Eldar character Lilith and will be quite complex, so much so I'm actually still planning just exactly how I will achieve it.
I figured I can't leave Rictus out of this as despite his constant bullying, nagging and persuading me to buy things he is generally a nice guy ;) so I tried to figure out what to make him, it hit me to make something for his daemons then I tried to think of a unit he didn't have and thus was the idea of creating him a Daemon prince born.
Here is the start of him:
Now I already have a nice name/theme picked out that being "The Morbid Saint" named after the lyrics from the below Marduk song. I figured the blowing parchment can contain lists of contagions and prayers to nurgle, and with him being skinnier than your average nurgle daemon he can represent famine or something, though this is entirely in Rictus' hands when he gets the model.
He is converted from a Necron Deciever model I had purchased a while back, given Rictus has used all manor of none Daemon models for his heralds I figured basing it off the C'Tan would follow his theme.
Now this will be the first Rictus hears of this so lets hope he likes the idea, if he doesn't well I can see the next FW open day ending up being expensive.........
Finally to finish this little update, with the spare GS from the Daemon prince I did some more work on my Truescale chaos marine for Inq28:
Still heavily WiP but is a nice slow burn project.
Thats it for now will be baack mid week with more painted Infinity stuff.

WIP - Infinity Knights #1
Well I've kept my promise (That'll teach you Sheep ;) ), here is the first of what I hope will be weekly posts on what I have been up to hobby wise.
This week its focusing on some stuff I have had sitting around for a while but have been too scared to attempt to paint incase I ruined such nice models. That being Infinity more specifically the Pan Oceania Military Orders starter set.
Now I also have a Yu Jing set too and I will get around to them soon hopefully. For now I was struck by an itch to paint something the other day and dropped on the box. I decided screw it might as well attempt to paint them so here are my WIP results thus far:
Teutonic Knight:
This guy is nearing completion. I wanted to try something different to the blue armour that the models on the box had so opted fro green. He has been an experiment as its one of the first models I have actually painted over a white basecoat.
I'm actually pretty pleased with the freehand and armour. I still need to darken his base down further so as it doesn't blend in with his tabard too much. A big thanks to that fiendish Dane Rasmus for that suggestion on skype.
Order Sergeant:
There are 4 of these guys in the box so this one has been the test bed for my scheme for them. I have opted to attempt poorly may I add digital camo on his fatigues. This again is to give a bit more realism to him (as real as space knights in power armour can be) he is farm more heavily WiP than the teutonic knight but hopefully you will get an idea of the scheme.
I have been really enjoying painting these guys, so much so I ordered a few bits to go with em, one of which will mark my first attempt at converting an infinity model, wish me luck haha.
As ever let me kno wwhat you think :)

The Cult is Alive
7 Months.................that is a long time. I'm blowing the dust off my little corner of the internet. I have had a lot on my plate in real life of late and documenting the bit of work I have been doing dropped to the bottom of the list of priorities. Things however have begun to look up and after a rough few months I am back.
Originally I wasn't going to ressurect this blog, I figured 7 months is too long a time to expect to come back, yet it appears I have acttually gained a fair few followers in my hiatus so thank you guys for bearing with me. I suppose it is 3 people who are to blame for me deciding to bring the blog back to life they are Rictus, Nife and Mr feral who have all badgered and nagged me at various points to start posting again.
It is from the aforementioned Nife that I intend to base the future of this blog on. He tries to do 1 update a week with progress shots of whatever he has worked on, this is a formula that I will try and emulate.
So what are my current projects I hear you ask, well here are a few:
GW - I have condensed my GW side of the hobby down into 3 items those being:
- Tau Empire - These guys are my gaming army that see use in my regular meets with Rictus and Nife and will incorporate a small AI force of planes
- 30K Shattered legions force - a small mainly Zone Mortallis themed army to match Rictus' Death Guard and Nifes eventual Space wolves
- Inq28 - I shall explore any other ares of 40k here be they 1 off chaos guys or what ever else
Out side of GW I have the following smaller projects:
- Deadzone - I have the Enforcered Started set as we;; as a selection of terrain that will do dual service between this and Infinity
- Dreadball - I am still yet to finish painting a corporation team
- Infinity - I have my Yu Jing as well as a starter set of Pan Oceanic templars to paint up

Changing direction
Good evening guys and girls,
I return to my neglected corner of the net after yet another long absence. I have been busy but also have struggled to actually get enough finished to be worthy of a post.
Fast forward to last weekend and I went to my normal meet up with Rictus and Nife, which has given me the kick I needed to post. The one thing that the meet up has opened my eyes too is just how little I am interested in the GW side of this hobby anymore. None of us particularly took our games of 40k seriously during the 1 day we had at WHW, this is when something clicked in my head that it was time to wrap up most my GW projects.....
Don't get me wrong I will finish what I've got(Corsairs and Tau) and still play when we have our meets, just I will now resist buying any more stuff and begin the long process of sorting out what to sell off.
The end isn't nigh though as though my interest in GW dwindles I have found new interest in other parts of the hobby those being skirmish and board games. The meet up gave us chance to try out some new games notably sedition wars and dreadball(the big hit of the weekend) as well as the now staple zombicide and I am finding them just so much more fun and interesting than 40k.
I think part of it is the self contained nature of them and in the case of dreadball its just fun and very easy to get into. So much so that I have ordered myself a team for it.
Another game I have gathered some bits for is infinity, I love the sculpts for this game as well as the ghost in the shell vibe it has. The fact you can have a game with only a handful of models per side is an added bonus, I hope to take this along to the next meet up.
Thats it for now guys, a bit text heavy I know but now you can see the new direction I'll be heading in. Next update will likely focus on me painting up my dreadball team but might be a while away yet as I have a lot on my plate in real life at the moment.

Mars Attacks Kickstarter
And finally we have one last game this time one I have invested in on kickstarter and I blame nife entirely for this.....,Mars Attacks. Looks like a really fun little skirmish game that is again all self contained add to that that the gaming mat and terrain will run dual use with infinity and its a steal.Thats it for now guys, a bit text heavy I know but now you can see the new direction I'll be heading in.
